Job Description

As S.E.E.K. Arizona's Life Skills Lead Teacher you are responsible for all of the students enrolled in the Life Skills Program under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You would be tasked with implementing behavior support plans using a range of teaching strategies and data collection methods.   In addition to these responsibilities, the Lead Behavior Technician has (1) a firm understanding of functions of behavior and (2) the ability to implement very diverse Behavior Support Plans quickly and effectively.  You should be enthusiastic about continued growth in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and passionate about working to change the lives of youth.


  • Complete intake and assessment of new students.
  • Assure the daily Opening/Closing Life Skills procedures are completed in their entirety. 
  • Utilize classroom routines and tools to support the timely rotation of students through centers.
  • Identify when a behavioral crisis is taking place and implements Safety-Care procedures effectively to maintain safety of staff and students.
  • Implement Behavior Support Plans as necessary.
  • Develop daily lesson plans to promote independent living skills and social skills in the group environment.
  • Supervise Life Skills Aides.
  • Assist with the maintenance of classroom materials.
  • Daily data collection of on identified behaviors.
  • Documentation of daily progress.
  • Documentation and communication of monthly progress to all members of the team.
  • Attend monthly team meetings.
  • Provide in-home family training and support for enrolled participants, 1-2 times monthly.



Summer: Monday and Wednesday 8:00am-5:00pm OR Tuesday and Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm

Fall and Spring:  Monday and Wednesday 3:30pm to 9:00pm OR Tuesday and Thursday 3:30pm to 9:00pm

In-home support: Scheduled at employee’s discretion, maintaining 1 visit per student per month

Reports To:

The Lead Teacher reports to the Life Skills Program Supervisor, BCBA.



     Education and Experience:

  • Registered Behavior Technician in good standing, registration listed on BACB.
  • Bachelor’s degree, 1 year of full-time experience implementing behavioral interventions, or
  • Associate’s degree, 2 years of full-time experience implementing behavioral interventions, or
  • High School Diploma and 4 years of full-time experience implementing behavioral interventions



A valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through a BACB approved curriculum is preferred

Additional Requirements:

The Behavior Coach must be able to demonstrate that they have strong collaborative skills as they are a part of a team, problem-solving skills that will assist with the success of the child and family, effective people skills as this is a service oriented environment, verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills that support a multi-tasking position. 

  • Basic computer & internet knowledge; MS Word
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have a valid Arizona driver's license and a clean 39-month MVR  
  • CPR and first aid certification
  • Valid fingerprint clearance card
  • Must complete and maintain all RBHA training requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Physical Demands:

  • Lifting up to 30 pounds may be necessary
  • Completing all components of Safety-Care training
  • Push, pull, reach, stoop, and bend
  • Physically assist the client per need
  • Walking stairs
  • Walking and standing for long periods of time
  • Stamina to play various outdoor games
  • Capability to run short distances
  • Ability to sit on the floor to play games or assist when needed
